For over a decade the UCTP has worked in collaboration with organizations such as the Tribal Link Foundation; International Indian Treaty Council, and others to train community leaders at the international level. The skills learned can be applied to the national and local level advocacy.

The UCTP participated in international advocacy toward the adoption of the United Nations and Organization of American States Declarations on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. The UCTP continues to engage multi-stakeholder processes such as the UNFCCC; the  Sustainable Development Agenda; the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues; raising the visibility of Taíno and other Indigenous Peoples.

CHRISTIE’S AUCTION HOUSE

It has come to our attention that Christie’s Auction House plans to auction off several Taíno artifacts in collaboration with Musee de l’Homme from the Fiore Art Collection on Nov. 10, 2021. The UCTP condemns these auction plans and demands a halt to the scheduled proceedings.
