UCTP Terms and Conditions of Use
All rights reserved. United States Copyright law protects all the components of this web site (including without limitation all articles, text, images, logos, compilation, and design). The United Confederation of Taino People, Inc. (known hereinafter as UCTP) and its subsequent publications and their content are copyrighted materials of the UCTP and its information providers. Except as specifically permitted herein, no portion of the information on this web site may be reproduced in any form or by any means without the prior written permission of the UCTP.
Persons using services ('User') provided by www.uctp.org are bound by this User Agreement (the 'Agreement') which governs the terms of the use by User of services offered by www.uctp.org. ('Provider').User agrees to receive access to the www.uctp.org services according to the following terms and conditions:
(a) Any material which violates or infringes any copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, statutory, common law or other proprietary rights of others;
(b) Members agree not to post anything that is abusive, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or libelous. As well, posts that spread misinformation and or are created for the explicit purpose of criticizing in an unconstructive or insulting manner or in any form of ill-will or negativity (commonly known as "flame" posts) will come under the scrutiny of the administrators and moderators. A post which is determined to be inappropriate (in any or all of the aforementioned ways or not mentioned) may be removed or split from the originating topic at the discretion of the administrators, and the author will be notified about the post in question. The administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible. However, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore, you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators, or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence they will not be held liable.
(c) Any material which is or contains anything obscene or pornographic; or
(d) Distribution lists to be used via unsolicited electronic mail or other mass electronic mailings including but not limited to: mass-newsgroup postings, SPAM and unsolicited email sent from your server or any server, or any other service on the Internet, which contains your domain name and or username or any other domain name on our or any network. Any violation of the above conditions will result in termination of User's account. Due to the public nature of the Internet, all material submitted by User for publication will be considered publicly accessible. Provider will screen in advance User's material submitted to Provider for publication. Provider's publication of material submitted by User does not create any express or implied approval by Provider of such material, nor does it indicate that such material complies with the terms of this Agreement.
(e) In the event of inappropriate activity on these forums or any other part of the website, violators may be subject to disciplinary action by the administration, including but not limited to: a warning from an administrator or moderator, a one-week ban from the site, or a permanent ban if necessary including ban of Internet protocol. Furthermore, the webmaster, administrators, and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move, or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
(f) As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While your private information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, the webmaster, administrator, and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. Your email address is generally used only to confirm your registration details and password and to send new passwords should you forget your current one. Occasionally, the administrators may be required to contact you via your email address. Therefore, a valid email address and response is required.
(g) All members must acknowledge the authority of the staff insofar as administrative actions are concerned. These issues are not open for discussion. Once the site webmaster, administrator and or moderator have indicated that the matter is closed. Further concerns regarding an action should be communicated via a private message to the staff member, and not repeatedly discussed publicly. Furthermore, once a thread on a particular topic has been closed or removed and indicated as being unacceptable by the webmaster, administrator and or moderator, starting a new discussion on the same or similar topic will result in administrative action being taken against the poster.
(h) All members must post in English or Spanish. Content in other languages are allowed as long as full English translations are provided, or otherwise at the discretion of the staff. User profile information (including signatures) in other languages is allowed.
(i) All member signatures must be kept brief -- 3 to 4 lines at most. Signatures and avatars must also be non-obtrusive, non-offensive and not violate any of our terms of service.
(j) All members except the webmaster and administrators are only allowed to have a single user account. Members who are found to violate this term may be subject to immediate administrative action.
(k) All members must refrain from using the forum for advertising purposes unless given permission by the site administration.
(l) These terms may be updated at any time without notice. It is the users sole responsibility to periodically check the terms of service and make themselves aware of any changes.
(m) All accounts not accessed between 6 months to a year will be deleted and you will have to re-register. All information associated with the account will also be deleted and irretrievable. www.uctp.org and the United Confederation of Taino People are not responsible for lost content or information.
(n) As of September 1st 2012, all accounts must have a valid UCTP Census registration and identification number. Any existing accounts will be deleted that do not provide a valid identification number.
